Welcome To Monument Cottage

Beautiful, secluded, peaceful location but handy for visiting beaches and towns. Sharon and her husband were welcoming and so friendly and helpful. The cottage was extremely clean and well equipped. The welcoming "goody" pack was fantastic. The outside space was exceptional. The cottage itself had various seating areas and the woods were lovely, we even caught site of hares and deer.

We had a lovely stay at Monument Cottage over the New Year holiday. The cottage was warm and welcoming, decorated for Christmas, and Sharon had gone out of her way to make sure we were comfortable: lighting the wood burner for us arriving, providing a generous hamper and keeping us informed by text of weather conditions for our arrival (it was snowing!). 

Lovely cottage surrounded by woodland, very well equipped, owners lovely, left a lovely welcome basket for us. House is really well located and would recommend.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Monument Cottage. Our stay coincided with the sudden cold snap in March but we were warmly welcomed by Sharon and felt very comfortable in the sensitively modernised cottage. There was lots to explore in the surrounding countryside and an intriguing history to the Panmure Estate (They are not kidding about the monument, it's huge! Built in the 19th century by grateful tenants to thank the Earl for sparing them rent in hard times – it towers high on the hillside above Monikie). Or, we could just it in the sun room and watch the birds, with occasional visits from the hares. And in the evenings light the wood-burning stove. It was also a nice surprise to find a welcome pack of well-chosen essentials in the kitchen when we arrived. Altogether, very relaxing. We were sorry to leave. And highly recommend.

Had a wonderful week at this secluded cottage, surrounded by trees and nature. Arrived to find the cottage immaculately clean, with a lovely welcome pack of food which included homemade jam, and the log fire lit - such a lovely touch. We spent the week exploring the area and watching the wildlife in the garden - we were regularly visited by deer, as well as woodpeckers, jays and voles. Would thoroughly recommend and will be back.

Our 3rd time staying at Monument cottage and as always it was perfect. The beautiful cottage is equipped with everything you need and more. Its warm and welcoming to come back to after exploringn the woods. Location is ideal, close enough to amenities and places to visit, yet you feel like you are in your own idyllis world when back at the cottage. Sharon & Dave are welcoming and make sure that you have everything you need.

We had a fantastic 2 week holidayin the wonderful, spacious , clean cottage. It is beautiful in the middle of a smalll forest.  car is a must, then you can go on wondeful trips to the sea, cities and highlands.

Our stay was great and the house is cosy with a lot of space. It was nice to be in nature, with deer around and no traffic.We would love to come again.

This house is one you wont forget - its a very unique location. The owner was very helpful and went above and beyond during our stay, very much appreciated.

We loved staying at Monument cottage. The location was very secure and private. We enjoyed walks in the woods and the views to the sea that open up few mins away from the house. The house was very well equipped and we had everything to cook home made meals and a Christmas dinner. There was abundance of logs for the fire and a generous welcome pack. The rooms are large and comfortable. Thanks Sharon for hospitality and hope to be back some day.

Always a quiet peaceful time, friendly hosts, and comfortable. We love staying out of any town but still reasonably close to our daily destinations.

What a wonderful cottage! So happy we found this for a family new year get together and will definitely plan coming back in the summer months. The location is stunning, you feel like you're in the middle of the countryside, with stunning views in the grounds of an historic monument - but just 10 mins from the main road, beach, villages, supermarkets etcThe interior is gorgeous, spotless, comfortable and has everything you could need plus a lovely welcome basket and decorated for Christmas too. Sharon was lovely and very helpful and on hand if we needed anything - Perfect!
